Halloween Horrorshoot!
veLvet fRinGe
Here are some images from the photoshoot! I'll try to add a
few more every day until I run out or get tired of doing it!
Although this image was made on a cloudy/drizzly day, it actually was pretty bright out. Thank
goodness for the magic of photoshop which enabled me to give this shot a much darker and more
sinister look. From left to right is Jay, Charli, and Kennedy. The sky was actually very bright
so I took some clouds from a photo I had taken at a soccer game a couple of years ago and used
those instead. Photoshop made them look mean!
Here's a shot of Kennedy and Erica lying on the matted grass outside the haunted mansion, as
though they were two vampires who just woke up. Both ladies are sooo beautiful that it was very
difficult to make them look so horrific! Note: We didn't use any special makeup for these shots
- each lady did their own and photoshop did the rest. The black roses were courtesy of a local
Halloween costume shop and I bought the dresses a couple of years ago for a bridal photoshoot.
The dresses - after this photoshoot - are in pretty bad shape, as you might imagine, but it was
totally worth it!
From left to right: Kennedy, Jay, and Charli. This shot reminds me of a movie still or promo. We
used photoshop to darken the shot ( again, it was pretty bright out ), lighten everybody's skin,
and darken their features, along with few other photoshop tricks that shall remain a secret.

The blood was courtesy of our local Halloween Costume shop - it looks so real in person!
This is a cool shot of Jay and Erica that I really love! This seemed so movie-like to me that I
decided to make into something of a painting - at least that was my intention. I think that the
contrast between Erica's beauty and Jay's monstrous appearance ( sorry Jay! ) makes for a really
neat image! Lots of photoshop tricks went into this one.
Here's another favorite of mine! In this shot, Erica looks so frightened and despondent, which
would seem pretty reasonable considering the fact that she is lunch! Kennedy totally looks the
part of a rather irritated vampiress who just discovered an intruder interrupting her meal. Were
this real, I definitely wouldn't want to be the person standing there...

I have to say that both Erica and Kennedy did such an amazing job - they were incredibly easy to
work with and were so good with their facial expressions and poses. Models? Actresses? Either
way, they both were awesome to work with!
In the shot at left, Erica is lunch. Kennedy is leaning over her, while Charli is looking up and
to the side, as though her meal was suddenly disturbed. I think her expression is AWESOME!!! Her
eyes look so sinister, and the whole image is just sooo frightening!

In the shot at right, an angry Erica is attacking an equally angry Kennedy, and they both look
ready to bite! In reality, everyone got along great so this is some serious acting going on!
Here's Jay, in a particularly spooky shot where he is simply standing alone in a forest. I think
this shot is totally frightening, especially if you imagine yourself walking along all alone in
the forest and suddenly you see him standing there.

The day of the photoshoot was pretty cool and drizzly, so when we were in the woods shooting it
totally reminded me of some of the scenes from the Twilight films. In this particular shot, it
was of course much brighter out, but photoshop quickly dealt with that!
Okay, so the image on the left shows, from left to right, Charli, Jay, and Kennedy, and I
thought it was a neat image showing the three of them standing ominously in the dark forest.

To the right is a particularly scary image of Kennedy, looking rather upset. We used a little
blood from the Halloween store for this shot, but her fangs actually broke before she could use
them, so the fangs in the image are courtesy of photoshop. The other effects in this image are
also all photoshop - it takes a lot of it to transform such a beautiful lady like Kennedy into
the monster depicted above!
Keep checking back and I'll try to add more images to this
gallery every chance I get! Thanks!
This is another image of the beautiful Erica, lying in a cold, dark crypt, illuminated only by
the moonlight. I love this shot, and I must say that it feels so very creepy!
Here is Kennedy "lying in state". I cannot decide whether I see her here as a sleeping vampire
or the victim of a vampire. I guess it doesn't really matter, right? Anyway, I spent a lot of
time making her skin smooth and pale, and I really like the cross-process effect, too!
I really like this shot of Charli - she looks so totally cool! This shot reminds me of a vampire
movie I saw a few years ago, where the vampires wore black leather and dressed very much like
this - I can't remember the name of the movie, though... Anyway, I love her look in this shot!!!
Okay, so the shot of Erica above left wasn't really planned at all... we were actually
relocating up the steps to the mansion and I saw the moment and took the shot. I used a lot of
different photoshop techniques to achieve this final look.

The shot above right shows Jay in a particularly mean mood preparing to bite Erica, who doesn't
seem the least bit bothered by the fact, probably due to her "unconcious" state. This was a fun
shot and they both did such a great job that it made MY job really easy. Again, lots of
photoshop to get the final look of the image!
Here's Charli looking rather vampirish! The outfit was all her own doing and I think it looked
absolutely incredible! She also did her own hair and makeup - the teeth were, of course,
courtesy of photoshop. I love this shot of her!
Yes, this shot is similar to one near the top of this page, but I thought it had a look all it's
own so I decided to include it on this page... it reminds me of an old movie still from many
years ago... the film strip edge probably adds to this impression but the washed-out antique
look is what really makes the image, in my opinion. I really like this one!

Oh, for the record, that's Charli's leg and hand in the upper left, Erica in the middle, and
Kennedy is the vampire about who is there for happy hour.
Here's Erica on the left, and she is truly looking good - for a vampire, that is! I think in
this shot she may be calling the viewer to come closer - maybe to whisper something into their
ear - or somewhere in that region...

Kennedy looks suitably sinister standing in front of the doorway of the mansion. While she
doesn't look particularly vampirish in this shot, I think the image itself is nevertheless quite
spooky. A fun shot!
